Carolyn Paul, Independent Board Member and Retired Financial Services Executive

Carolyn is an industry thought leader and board advisor with more than 25 years of corporate and non-profit board experience. She has executive experience in strategic planning, sales, talent management, P&L management, finance, budgeting, business development, risk management, private banking, investments, and trust services.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Carolyn and her husband moved to Colorado 20 years ago, when she was recruited by a large bank in Boulder. Shortly after the move, Carolyn got involved with WiseWomen, an organization which was key in helping her to build a new network of personal and professional contacts. In 2017, along with a small group of her peers, Carolyn helped to keep the organization going and was instrumental in bringing the WiseWomen program into the Colorado Thought Leaders Forum community.

“I have always believed in giving back to the community and have been on over 15 non-profit boards. In addition to the WiseWomen advisory board, I am currently on the board of the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame and was appointed by Governor Polis to be on the Colorado Secure Savings Program board. We are in the design phase of creating an Auto Enroll IRA program to serve employees of companies that do not have a retirement savings plan.”

Having retired in 2020 with more than 35 years in leadership roles in various banks, Carolyn is focused on making an impact through continued participation on corporate boards. She recently completed the Women’s Leadership Foundation “Boardbound” program and is honored to have been asked to join the Zia Consulting, Inc. board.

Carolyn and her family are passionate about skiing and snowboarding. She was previously a ski instructor at Eldora, as well as an OHG Guide at Copper Mountain. Be sure to connect with Carolyn to hear more about her passions on and off the slopes!
