A “Jobless Recovery” is on the Way
Denver, CO (July 22, 2009)

Internationally recognized and respected economist, Brian Beaulieu, presented his latest economic trends at the Colorado Thought Leaders Forum held at Infinity Park in Glendale. Mr. Beaulieu’s trends point to economic recovery in late 2010, with construction recovery lagging through mid-2011.

Lead sponsor of the event was the Colorado Thought Leaders Forum, a Denver-based non-profit, founded by Greg Greenwood, CEO of comCables, and Bob Neuman, Executive Vice President of Teammates Commercial Interiors. Nine businesses, including Bank of the West, The BizSolux Group, CEAVCO, comCables, InWard Charles Construction, Latisys, Teammates Commercial Interiors, Telecommunications Consultants of Colorado, and Trinity Capital Services, served as charter board members.

During the event, Mr. Beaulieu offered the crowd of mostly business owners and executives timely economic topics for the forum to discuss, such as hedging their businesses as economic down turns, business expansion timing and other countries to market for exporting. “Is it the Great Depression? No. said economist Beaulieu, It is a business cycle.”

The signature event drew several hundred attendees. Current trends point to a jobless recovery with unemployment expected to increase to 10-12% through mid-2010. “Find a way to market to the unemployed,” claimed Mr. Beaulieu. Trends show we are in the very beginning of recovery, which will take until 2012. These trends are a weakening US Dollar, higher inflation and rising commodity prices.
